Time to get your ASMR, ASAP

In 2016 I created a video sharing platform for people who enjoy ASMR. The website was a personal passion project of mine that grew into offering many other ASMR related things i.e. The ASMR Radio App.

ASMR radio was an online radio station I created to stream the newest ASMR tracks for people to enjoy. I later designed and help create an app to easily access the station on iOS and Android.

Although I was passionate for the project, I later decided to close down the website and app as I had to focus on my final year of University.

The ASMR bar website went through a few different iterations, most notably the two versions you see here.

Background

ASMR Radio was created to solve a key problem in the ASMR community: loud ads. Most people today watch or listen to ASMR on YouTube. Loud YouTube ads disrupt a users relaxation when listening and can even wake users up when asleep.

Both an iOS app and Android app were created. I helped design the iOS app but the coding was primarily done externally as well as with the Android app. I made just some minor amendments to the app with the coding knowledge I have.

Project Outcome

What I learnt

During this 2 year + passion project I learnt more than I ever have. Ultimately I was trying to do too much with just myself to produce all aspects of the website, app, marketing, recording, video development etc. Although I ended the project, I wish I would have kept at it and narrowed my scope on what I aimed to deliver.
